Voting is an essential right for all, and Northlake Town Hall is making accessibility a priority for its voters. The experience starts with a seamless arrival: ADA parking is located right next to the building, with ramps on both sides leading to the entrance, making access smooth and manageable. However, the manual door can be a bit challenging for wheelchair users, so having someone along to assist can be helpful. Inside, there’s ample space for maneuvering, though a few areas were a bit tight. Thankfully, the polling staff was attentive, always ready to assist where needed.
The voting options at Northlake Town Hall are also designed with accessibility in mind. Voters can choose between two options: a ballot machine with an ADA-compliant controller for ease of use or voting with the help of a poll worker if preferred. Additionally, there’s a convenient curbside voting service available for those who cannot easily access the building, ensuring that everyone has a way to make their voice heard.
Personal Voting Experience
Since turning 18, I’ve made it a point to vote in all state and national elections, and now at 24, this commitment is as strong as ever. This year was particularly special as I went with my brother, who was voting for the first time. Our local polling place was welcoming and efficient, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, helping to ensure my voting experience went smoothly from start to finish. After filling out our ballots, we submitted them and were on our way. I couldn’t take many videos of the process, given the recording restrictions inside polling places, but the ease and friendliness of the experience left a lasting impression.
Final Rating: 5 out of 5
