Bath & Body Works is known for its beautifully scented candles, lotions, and a wide variety of personal care items. However, for wheelchair users, navigating the store can present some challenges. While it’s easy to get to, especially in most shopping areas, the experience inside the store might not be as seamless as you’d hope.
One of the first issues you may encounter is the entrance. Bath & Body Works typically has manual doors, which can be difficult for wheelchair users to manage, especially when there are two sets of double doors to get through. Once inside, the store's layout can feel small and tight, particularly for those with larger wheelchairs. The narrow aisles and crowded displays make it harder to navigate without feeling cramped. While most products are within reach, the lack of space can make browsing a little overwhelming. On the plus side, the staff is incredibly friendly and willing to assist you with whatever you need.
Personal Experience
My brother and I were walking around Highland Village when we decided to check out Bath & Body Works. Getting into the store was a bit of a challenge because there were two sets of double doors, and I had to navigate through both. Once we were inside, the store had plenty to look at, but the layout made it hard to move around comfortably. The walkways were tight, and we kept having to maneuver around displays and other customers. Although we were able to see most of the products, the cramped space and overwhelming smells from the different fragrances made us decide to leave after a short time.
Final Rating: 3 out of 5
While Bath & Body Works is a great store for scented products, the accessibility inside leaves much to be desired. The manual doors and tight layout make it a difficult space to navigate, especially for wheelchair users. However, the friendly staff is always there to lend a helping hand. Overall, I’d rate the accessibility experience a 3 out of 5.
