Rolling in Comfort: Accessibility at Crocs

I’ve always wanted to own a pair of Crocs. Between their unique style and reputation for being ultra-comfy, they’ve been on my wishlist for a while. So when I found out there was a Crocs store at the Tanger Outlets, I knew it was finally time to roll in and check them out.

First Impressions: Surprisingly Spacious

At first glance, the store looked a little tight inside, which immediately made me cautious. But as soon as I entered, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t the most spacious store, but there was more than enough room for me to comfortably move around in my wheelchair. The layout was thoughtfully organized, and I never felt like I was squeezing through racks or stuck in a corner.

Friendly Faces and Helpful Hands

As soon as my brother and I entered, we were greeted by an incredibly friendly staff member. She didn’t just say hello—she made sure I was personally supported, offering help if I had any questions and being ready to assist at any point. That kind of customer service always goes a long way, but it’s especially meaningful when you're navigating a store as a wheelchair user.

My brother helped me pick out a pair of Crocs and some Jibbitz charms to customize them. Once we were ready, we headed to checkout—and it just so happened the same friendly associate was there to assist us again.

Above and Beyond at Checkout

Here’s where the service really stood out. When we got to the counter, the staff member double-checked the sizing of the Crocs we picked. Turns out, we had accidentally grabbed the wrong size. Instead of asking me to go back and find another pair (which can be frustrating in a chair), she went herself, found the correct size, and brought them back to me. That simple act of consideration really made my day.

I paid, left with my brand-new Crocs, and couldn’t stop smiling. Not only did I finally get the shoes I’ve been wanting, but I also had a fantastic in-store experience that made the whole process enjoyable from start to finish.

Final Thoughts

Crocs already had a great reputation for comfort—and now, they’ve earned one in my book for accessibility and customer care. From the surprisingly accessible layout to the outstanding staff, this visit to the Tanger Outlets location was everything I hoped it would be.
